This takes place in the 70's! The world of records and disco balls. Where Gru is only young. A super villain team called the Vicious 6 had stolen the zodiac stone which can turn anyone into a monster. Then, when a member of the Vicious 6 got kicked out, Gru had the chance to get in. They didn't accept him because he was a kid. Gru then stole the zodiac stone. One of his Minions, Otto had lost it and Gru went looking for it. But when Gru was on the sidewalk, he was kidnapped. And it was not to only find Gru, but the stone too.
